The Kleivs bought a home in their Sellwood neighborhood with the intent of selling the home for $1 to a salvage company that relocated it. Cascade was brought in to build the new home designed by the client. The concrete slab floor on the main level houses a radiant heating system. In the kitchen, we built our custom cabinets using African sapele mahogany. Custom woodwork and excellent craftsmanship are evident throughout. The city of Portland has been promoting the construction of accessory dwelling units (ADU’s) to increase urban density. We constructed an ADU with the likeness of the house in the backyard. Another cool feature is that we installed a 3000 gallon water cistern underground. All the rainwater from the roof is collected into the cistern and filtered back into the house for use.
